Behold my Xmas Belly!

Eeeeee *pats belly contentedly* That was a bloody good Xmas! Great company, good food and lots of Xmas loot! Lydia was in absolute heaven with all the presents and being the centre of attention. She was so funny opening her presents though. She didn’t know which to go for first! We were trying to encourage her to rip the wrapping paper, but she was being so gentle with it. She would just lift the paper up delicately and try to pull the present out that way! She got the hang of it a bit later though and started to rip the paper a bit more.

I woke Dave up at about 7am because I couldn’t sleep anymore with the thought of presents that needed to be attacked – that’s late for me  So we got up and opened our presents first. Lydia didn’t wake up until about 9am! With Dave being up so early and then being stuffed full of Xmas dinner at my Mum’s house, he fell asleep before both Lydia and my Grandad! So I covered him with a big blanket and put Lydia’s bib on him too, tee hee  Here’s my Xmas loot:

  • A picture of Lydia in her Halloween outfit in a gorgeous glass frame
  • League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse DVD
  • HIM ‘Dark Light’ CD
  • Nightmares & Fairytales ‘Once Upon a Time’ graphic novel
  • Chronic Fatigues Our World issue 1 comic
  • Beauty spa set
  • Fluffy slipper socks
  • Woolly slipper socks with a bear on the front (not a picture of a bear – a whole teddy bear  they’re great!)
  • Box of Thorntons chocolates from my boss
  • A phone sock
  • Bottle of Archers peach schnapps
  • A cute nodding toy
  • A posh coffee set
  • Some really cool Chinese plates and soup bowls with fortune cookies
  • Posh coffee mugs with chrome holder
  • Chrome sugar, tea and coffee holders
  • A chrome bin

As you can see, there’s a lot of chrome stuff there which is to go in our posh new kitchen. It’s so luverly! I actually want to go in there to wash the dishes now

We also spent Boxing Day along my Mums house for loads of hot beef and onion sandwiches (I’m drooling at the thought of them again :wuv: ). My Auntie, Uncle and cousin were there too. My Mum was talking about the time she went to this horrible nightclub where they kept playing that bloody awful ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe’ song. My Uncle was adamant that it wasn’t called ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe’, but was infact ‘Cockanite Joe’ :???: We all cracked up at this point and it was made worse by the fact that my Uncle wouldn’t back down! Dave quipped that if he lived up to his name of Cockanite, Joe would be very sore indeed

I hope you all had a great Xmas!

I had a great Christmas too…and no work until next week. Hurrah!
I can’t see your images though. I get a “Don’t direct link” logo instead :(

Aw go on, Cottoneye Joe rocks; all hail cheesy early-90s music! They should’ve put some C&C Music Factory on, along with some Snap and Technotronic

I also wonder why you’re encouraging Lydia to rip open her present paper; I think most parents would pay to have a child that was so careful with paper :P

And on a completely unrelated note, there is apparantly a movie along the name of ‘Masters of Horror’ coming out; what’s the buzz, if there is any, regarding this film? From what I’ve seen they seem to be lacking a lot of ‘masters’ (unless Tobe Hooper is still considered one, although I wouldn’t have thought 1 film would qualify him for such status)

    Cheerio
