I vaguely mentioned in my last post about having an assessment at work. This was part of an application process for a Deputy Coach job at work. If I passed the assessment I would then go through to the interview stage. Thankfully I passed! I had my interview on Wednesday, and it was one of the most nerve-wracking things I’ve been through in a while. One of the interviewers told me that I didn’t seem nervous, but I obviously was. I took a cup of water in with me and when I took a sip, my hands were shaking so badly that I thought I’d end up tipping it all over myself!
About 5 minutes before leaving work tonight I was handed a letter telling me that I had got the job! I’m so incredibly happy! I’ve never gotten a job after an interview before. I’ve always gone through employment agencies, but anything that I applied for myself and had to have an interview for, I never got. I always got on well with the interviewers and they seemed to really like me, but then they wouldn’t hire me. So when this interview went well I didn’t really dare to believe that I would actually be successful!

WOW Congratulations, I know how you feel. I have never had a successfull interview to hire process always through temp agencies as well. My only job I got going through an interview was when I got hired at Louis Vuitton so that was so freaking amazing so i was excited LOL.. Well good luck on your new job :)

Yeah, congratulations.. job interviews are the most awful thing ever. To me, they are actually worse than exams - and that is saying a lot :)

Wow, becky - it must be more than five years since I talked to you. :) Used to have a diaryland blog, we made each other a few xmas presents waay back. You just popped into my head a while back. Glad to see you’re doing well. :)
It is great that you got that job. You are probably as busy as I am. I just got a new job in the past month, web designing for a small company. The owner has many sites needing maintaining and he also is opening others.
I know a lot of friends that have gotten jobs through agencies…mostly temping. It is really hard to land a job. So, hope you are doing fine.
