So Cold!

I swear, if I had nuts, they would have shrivelled up and fallen off by now! Normally I love the cold but it’s just appeared out of nowhere this year. I keep getting shooting pains all through my joints too so I’m feeling pretty on edge. I’m going to try to get to see my Doctor tomorrow to see if there’s anything he can give me to ease the pain apart from chopping my arms and legs off  I’ve been to see other Doctors in the meantime, but the only thing they give me is some co-codemol! What is it about me that everyone assumes that I’m trying to pull a sickie from work? I love work. It’s something that I’m good at. I even reduced my hours there for the time being because I know that if I do the full shift, I’ll end up having to take time off due to feeling so crappy. I’m just feeling sorry for myself now

Dave’s parents took us to Stapelely Water Gardens on Friday, which was lovely. Lydia really enjoyed herself, especially the leaves. Yes, you read that right, her favourite thing there out of sharks, pirahnas, tamarins, tarantulas, snakes and various other exotic animals were the leaves and plants! Oh, and the water fountain  Bless. I really wish I had taken my camera, but we were in too much of a rush that morning. Dave’s parents then offered to look after Lydia for the weekend so we could watch our nasty films.

We had a huge film day on Saturday actually. We watched ‘Descent’, which was really enjoyable despite all the false scares it seemed to just shove in to annoy me. We also watched ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and ‘The Devil’s Rejects’. I’ve seen ‘House of’ before and can’t understand why everyone slags it off. It’s a great flick, especially when crap like ‘Wrong Turn’ and ‘Cabin Fever’ get such rave reviews and gets lauded with bringing back the old style of horror movie. What a load of arse. Rob Zombie pulled it off much better and his films had that edge of sleaziness that was present in the older films of its type, but that the other new ones definitely lack. You don’t know what’s going to happen in ‘House’ and ‘Devils Rejects’, but you just KNOW that Eliza Dushku will overcome all odds and survive, because she was a Slayer in a TV programme, dontchaknow? Arse! Arse I say!

We also went to the cinema to watch ‘Saw 2′. What a game that was! We bought our tickets and were told go through. We went through the doors to the seating area, and there was a queue of people down the side of the aisle – the previous film hadn’t finished yet! Sadly we didn’t get to see the end of Wallace & Gromit as we were then told to queue outside, but we had to wait for 20 minutes for the film to finish and for them to clean the seating area. Despite several cries of ‘FREE HOTDOGS!’ by random people in the queue, alas we ended up hotdogless and even had to sit through all the crap before the film too! How rude!

Speaking of rude, we had the pleasure of sitting in front of one of those horrid people who leaves their mobile phone on. Not only did he have his phone on, this tosspot was actually talking extremely loudly during the film! Sadly, my patented death-glare was having no effect. Even Dave turning around and shouting ‘Shut the fuck up!’ didn’t even phase him. So I got up and told the security guard standing in the aisle. He just warned the bloke and then wandered off, but as soon as he left, the bloke carried on talking! No one else in the cinema even did anything, which I feel was just as bad. After another 5 minutes of Tosspot shouting down his phone, Dave stood up, threw popcorn in his face and shouted ‘Shut the fuck up or I’ll make you eat that phone!’. NOW the Security Guard burst into action and chucked him out. Brave Tosspot then decided to start puffing his chest out and start shouting stuff at Dave. Now that he was out of reach and safe in the loving arms of the Security Guard of course. Dave just stuck his finger up at him :wuv:

Lydia’s so clever. I still find it weird when she does ‘grown up’ stuff like getting her own toys and slumping in her Pooh chair like Al Bundy  Dave told me that he’d started singing the Tellytubbies song while I was at work for some reason, when he was in the kitchen. He said that all of a sudden, Lydia appeared with her Tellytubbies video and presented it to him! He put the video away once she’d watched it, and when I came back from work he started singing it again thinking that it may have been a fluke that she’d chosen it. She waddled off towards the videos, and after a couple of minutes digging around, out came the Tellytubbies vid  I’m so proud of her!

I don’t think it’s such a good idea to start worshipping Zombie after *two* films, but yes, I like what I’ve seen from him so far.

RE: Saw 2; you didn’t actually tell anyone if the film was any good or not :P

It’s not really worshipping Rob Zombie, more like slagging off the other film makers  I genuinely enjoyed the films and was unsure of what was going to happen in them, whereas with the others, I could have told you the outcome before I’d even seen them.

As for Saw 2 – I really enjoyed it, but somehow it didn’t feel like a Saw film. I mean, it had the killer and everything from the last one, but the ‘games’ almost felt like they were tagged on. I still really liked it though and will probably buy it when it comes out on DVD
